Indonesian Air Force's C-130J-30 Super Hercules Arrives at Halim Air Force Base
On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at around 14.30 WIB, the second unit of the Lockheed Martin C-130J-30 Super Hercules transport aircraft ordered by the Ministry of Defense for the 31st Air Squadron of the Indonesian Air Force will arrive.
The aircraft with the number A-1340 will land at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport after departing from its factory at Lockheed Martin Aerospace, Georgia, United States of America, on June 22.
The aircraft started its flight on June 22, 2023, taking off from Marietta, in the northwest city of Atlanta, Georgia, USA, at 09.00 local time to go to San Diego, USA.
After crossing the Pacific Ocean and stopping at the Hawaiian Islands, the Marshall Islands, and the Guam Islands, the plane is expected to arrive at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, on Wednesday (28/6) at 14.24 WIB.
The plane landed in Sandiego at noon at 11.36 LT.
The flight lasted 5 hours, 36 minutes.
The aircraft then left Sandiego to continue its long-haul ferry flight and landed in Honolulu.
The flight lasted 7 hours, 36 minutes.
The third route is a flight from Honolulu to Kwajalein.
With a flight time of 7 hours, the A-1340 is planned to land on the Kwajalien atoll on June 26, 2023.
After that, the 31st Air Squadron Super Hercules will continue the ferry flight to Guam with a flight time of 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Guam is the last stop for A-1340 before entering Indonesian airspace.
It is planned that the plane will depart from Guam on June 28, 2023, to continue the final route to Jakarta.
The A-1340 is scheduled to depart from Guam at 09.00 LT (07.00 WIB) and land at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport at 14.24 WIB.
The last route to Jakarta will be the longest ferry flight, the C-130J-30 Super Hercules A-1340.
The flight will last 8 hours, 24 minutes.
The delivery of this second aircraft was carried out entirely by pilots and crew from Lockheed Martin.
The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Defense, has ordered five C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft from Lockheed Martin in the US.
The procurement of five C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft for the Indonesian Air Force was done using another scheme, namely Direct Commercial Sales (DCS).
DCS has the added benefit of giving customers the option to purchase more non-standard systems that are mission-specific and designed to address readiness challenges.
In this case, the Pentagon does not support these types of mission requirements in their inventory or in their annual budget.
The first aircraft, A-1339, landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, on March 6, 2023.
Furthermore, the following aircraft will be delivered regularly in June, July, and October 2023.
Meanwhile, the last Super Hercules aircraft will be delivered in January 2024.
